Library of the University of Deusto

The University of Deusto, founded in 1886, is one of the most important academic institutions in Spain with nearly 1,000,000 printed volumes and a wide collection of electronic resoruces. The documentary collection mainly consist of material on subjects taught at the Bilbao and San Sebastián campuses of the University.

Built by the prestigious architect Rafael Moneo, the Bilbao campus Library building houses, on its seventh floor, the glass-enclosed room where the work sessions of the Forum will take place on the afternoon of July 1 in the morning of July 2.

Guggenheim Museum Bilbao

The Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, the work of the Canadian-American architect Frank Gehry, is a magnificent example of the most avant-garde architecture of the 20th century. With a surface area of 260,000 sq ft, half of which is intended for exhibition space, the building represents a milestone due to its audacious configuration and sculptural design, perfectly integrated into the urban fabric of Bilbao.

Located a few steps from the Gran Hotel Dómine, the spectacular atrium of the Museum will be the scenario for the opening dinner of the Forum, on July 1.

Iberdrola Tower

The Iberdrola Tower (Torre Iberdrola) constitutes the last great milestone in the urban transformation process of Bilbao and is the central axis of the new financial center. At 541 feet high, this elegant office building is a benchmark for Bilbao residents for its design, technology and sustainability.

The working lunch on July 2, will take place on the 29th floor of Torre Iberdrola, from which you can enjoy a privileged 360º view of the city.

Euskalduna Palace

The rooms of the Palacio Euskalduna will host the meetings of the trustees of the Fundación Consejo España – EE.UU. and the members of the United States – Spain Forum on the afternoon of July 2, after the working sessions have ended.

The Euskalduna Palace is the main convention and performing arts center in the city. Inaugurated in 1999, it is located next to the Bilbao estuary on part of the land previously occupied by the Euskalduna shipyards, being one of the greatest exponents of the economic transformation of the city.
